Sunny beach is the biggest resort on the Bulgarian  Black Sea with the longest and the widest beach. It is situated in the south part of the Bulgarian Black Sea Riviera, spreading along a beautiful bay with a shape of a semicircle and with a view to the east.It is situated  8 km.north of Pomorie, 42 km north of Bourgas and 434 km east of Sofia. Practically, the resort is located on the whole territory between the land of the village of Vlas to the north and the town of Nessebar to the south.



History
During the Middle Ages the bay between cape Emine and Nessebar had two big wells for fresh water. The natives made their living by selling fresh drinking water to the inhabitants of Nessebar who didn’t have such on their territory. This region now is known as Sunny beach.



Climate
Sunny beach is like a Pparadise for the tourists because they can enjoy  the combination of a mountain and sea. The climate of the region is mild and Mediterranean. There are about 1700 hours of sunny weather from May to September with average day temperature in summer about 27 degrees.
The complex is awarded with a  prestige international award Blue Flag for proven ecologic advantages.



Construction
The construction as a resort began in 1958. Nowadays there is a large number of  hotels, camping sites and lots of places for entertrainment.

There is a hospital and a lot of big supermarkets,cloth shops and such for souvenirs.
